It’s been 8 months since my last surgery. We found out in Sept 2015 that I still need another surgery. A test also confirmed I have additional nerve damage in my neck and arm.
I am still unable to work. It will be 3 years this August and still have not been approved for Social Security Disability. Donations are all I have coming in to keep a roof over our heads. I also am left to pay all medical bills until my case is settled.
I have an injury to a very rare spot, the Latissimus dorsi. Also the Teres Major/ Minor has an injury. This is an area people generally don’t injure. Because I was attacked with so much force, this large muscle is torn.
Because of the injury being so rare, most doctors have not seen an injury of this type. For that reason it has been a challenge to find a doctor skilled enough to perform reconstructive surgery and that has also seen an injury in these muscles.
Because of the injuries and the nerve damage, I am back to my original state before my 2nd surgery. Unable to walk, sit or stand more than a few minutes without severe pain. Also, I am still unable to lift or use my arm.
The process to get the right surgeon to ensure this is my last surgery, is costly. I am traveling to facilities out of state with top of the line doctors on my quest to be healed.
I appreciate all the support.
